A 16-year-old Bangladeshi student was found dead in a Siliguri hotel, the police said today, suspecting the teenager has committed suicide.

"Abdul Azij, a student of Class 10 in Delhi Public School, Siliguri, died at Gateway hotel," inspector-in-charge Siliguri Prabhat Chakraborty said.

Though no suicide note was found, from some papers recovered from Azij's hotel room, the police suspect he has committed suicide.

His body was sent for autopsy on Tuesday evening.

Azij, from Chittagong in Bangladesh, was missing from his hostel since December 31. He checked into the Gateway hotel January 4.

His parents were informed and they are coming to take the body, the police said.
