With their arrest, the police have busted a gang who had robbed 10 different banks in four states and looted more than Rs 5 crore since 2005.
“Nasim Khan (24) and Muslim Ansari alias Babloo (30) were intercepted in their car during a routine checking operation. Khan produced a forged PAN card and election ID cards that contained diverse information and this turned the police suspicious. During sustained interrogation the duo revealed that they had robbed 10 banks and looted about Rs 5.60 crore between 2005 and 2008,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime) Anil Dhawan said, adding that the gang had not admitted to any crime in Gurgaon.
The two robbers had invested some part of the booty in real estate and purchased vehicles in Gurgaon where they had been living for the past six months.
So far the police have located one gangster’s house in Jyoti Park. Police said more recoveries are expected.
