A spokesman of the striking employees claimed that the strike was complete, and information to this effect was already given to the customers through media and in person.

The employees held demonstration outside their branches and raise anti-management slogans.

He said the union government was responsible for the strike, as it was offering an increase of 5% over the wage expenses. “Since their offer was too low, and not acceptable to the unions, it has been decided to go ahead with the strike,” said the spokesperson, adding that the wage revision of bank employees was due from November 2012.

He further said if their demands were not accepted on time, they would go on indefinite strike and entire responsibility for which would be of the managements of the banks and the union finance ministry.
