THE HIGH Court Bar Association at a meeting expressed shock and surprise over the attack on some mediapersons by an alleged imposter journalist who has not been arrested till date even though an FIR was lodged in this connection several days back.
Members in this meeting resolved to support the media in their fight against injustice and called upon the district administration and the police to take effective step in this direction.
The meeting was convened by secretary, High Court Bar Association, Rakesh Pandey. It was attended by Mamta Maurya, senior vice-president, High Court Bar Association, Santosh Kumar Pandey, joint secretary (Library), High Court Bar Association, Shashi Shekhar Tiwari, joint secretary (press), Himanshu Singh treasurer and other office bearers and members of the association.
Congress Legal Cell meet
The Congress Legal Cell held a meeting of lawyers was held under its chairman SC Maheshwari, at Hotel Yatrik on Thursday.
Maheshwari said the Congress was not just a party but a way of life. The purpose of its Nyay Rath Yatra was to rejuvenate Congress in UP. This yatra would conclude in Lucknow on May 13 at Ravindralay, Charbagh, Lucknow, he said.
