In the aftermath of the incident, project director of the State Construction Corporation was criticised for poor quality of construction work. The corporation official constituted a committee led by executive engineer SC Rai to probe the incident.

Mishra inquired into the incident and tried to understand the lawyers’ opinion regarding continuation of construction work or to drop the proposal. Talking to lawyers, Mishra said that he would raise the issue at the Bar Council meeting and convey the feelings of the lawyers. Later, he and several others met the district magistrate and discussed various aspects of the probe.

Sources said that the district magistrate informed them that the committee would submit its report by June 8. President of Civil Court Bar Association Madhusudan Tripathi member of UP Bar Council Ram Pratap Shukla and Balwant Shahi, who were present on the occasion, said that the lawyers took appropriate decision in the light of the probe committee report. Mishra also addressed the lawyers in the Civil Court Bar Association Hall. Secretary of Dairy Development Harbhajan Singh also made an on-the-spot inspection of porch collapse.
