BASF Q4 net up 5.73% at Rs 4.98 cr

BASF India Ltd posted 5.73% increase in net profit at Rs 4.98 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2006.

Chemical and chemical products manufacturer BASF India Ltd on Tuesday posted 5.73 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 4.98 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2006, as compared to Rs 4.71 crore for the corresponding period last year.

The total income for the quarter under review, however, decreased 3.83 per cent to Rs 146.62 crore from Rs 152.47 crore for the corresponding period in 2004-05, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The Board has recommended a dividend of Rs 7 on shares of Rs 10 each (70 per cent) for the financial year ended March 31, 2006.

For the year ended March 31, 2006, the company posted a net profit at Rs 45.41 crore as compared to Rs 37.97 crore in 2004-05.

The company's total income for 2005-06 increased to Rs 688.10 crore as against Rs 662.50 crore in 2004-05.

The group has posted a net profit of Rs 45.30 crore for the year ended March 31, 2006.

BASF India is manufactures and markets tanning agents, leather chemicals, textile chemicals, automotive and coil coatings.

The company's shares were trading at Rs 250.50, up 3.38 per cent at the BSE.
