Bangladeshi frontier guards on Sunday returned to their posts after a mutiny on Feb 25-26 left more than 100 people dead, an Indian official said.
Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) troopers were off duty from their posts along the border with India after Wednesday's mutiny in their headquarters at Dhaka.
"We have noticed BDR personnel back to their posts and carrying out normal duties along certain stretches in the border along Meghalaya state," a senior Border Security Force (BSF) official said requesting not to be named.
The official said BDR troopers were spotted along Dawki in Meghalaya and also in some parts on the border with Tripura and Assam as well.
"They (BDR) appear normal and were seen by our personnel carrying out normal patrol duties along the border," the BSF official said.
India shares 4,095 km long border with India along the states of West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, and Mizoram.
"Last couple of days, the border posts on the Bangladesh side were either found desolate or manned by some army soldiers. But things appear to be normal now on their side," the official said.
