You don’t have to make huge donations to show you care. It’s simply your wish to help. CRY (Child rights and You) believes in organising fun activities to raise awareness and money for underprivileged children.

The cause has been seeing an increasing response from college students who contribute mostly in kind, making good use of their talent.

Meenakshi Kohli, Senior Manager Communications, CRY says, “The volunteers organise festivals, spreading the word through skits and seminars.”

The organsiation also had an online charter about the girl child’s education which was signed by over 6,000 people including Kiran Bedi vowing to contribute to the cause.

How you can help as a CRY volunteer:
* File an RTI application, questioning where the tax that you pay for education actually goes.

* Go to five colonies a month and get a rough idea of the male - female ratio. Explore reasons for the unfavourable ratio.

* Encourage donors to visit places where underprivileged children live.

* Make a petition to make child rights a priority.

* Collect signatures; CRY will send it to the politician of your choice.
