The translation of spa décor in their home has helped interior designers Kamalenduu and Saswati Guptaa create an abode that epitomises rejuvenation. The house, situated in Faridabad and spread over 3,800 square feet of space, is a representation of serenity, zen-inspired ambience and straight-line décor.
Theme wise
A palette of warm colours (like brown) runs through the house. Says Saswati: “We wanted to create a spa-like ambience, which could help us relax. So, this soothing colour palette coupled with the right accessories helped us get that look.”
Multiple influences
The house also has various contemporary influences. The Guptaa’s inclination towards vaastu is quite visible in the sheer number of ‘positive’ elements in the house: from small and big bamboo sticks to laughing Buddhas and crystal frogs, every possible anomaly in the house’s plan has been addressed with these items.
There are also traces of some unique experimentation. Instances can be found in the soft butterfly print wallpaper in the bedroom (approx Rs 150 per sq ft) and a combination of Italian marble and antique metallic and leather finish tiles (approx Rs 300-400 per sq ft) in the drawing room.

The décor is enriched with numerous accessories representing a globe of cultures, including porcelain figures from Amsterdam and Malaysian bark paintings. The minimalistic decor also helps them experiment regularly with various permutations and combinations with the same items.
