Put a large piece of paper inside your bags with contact information and names. If it’s a multi-city/country trip, write down a list of contacts for each leg of the journey.

Write important contact information in black marker in the middle of a sheet of paper and circle it, then let your child crayon the surrounding space. This big, colourful paper will be easy to spot by someone opening your case if it’s lost and tell them how to contact you.

Make a list that gives out just enough information about your travel plans, and clearly, so that a person isn’t trying to locate you in Rome when you are in Romania.

Never use your home number; put your business number. A business number will most likely have a receptionist, answering machine or someone who knows you who can take the call.

Even if you are not using your laptop during your flight, never put it in the hold luggage.

Carry a couple of USB memory sticks with all the important information as half the time, you will not be able to connect your laptop to the projection system. In such situations, the way to show the presentation will be to stick the USB stick into the system’s USB port.

Always carry a paper and pen as they have a longer life than the battery of the laptop.
