THE ISSUE of admitting those students who have cleared the Chhatrapati Sahuji Maharaj University (CSJMU) BEd entrance test to private colleges has reached the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court.
Former leader of the Federation of Uttar Pradesh University College Teachers’ Association (FUPUCTA) Dr Narendra Dwivedi has filed a writ petition seeking the high court’s intervention in the issue.
Dr Dwivedi said the writ was filed on September 19 and it would be heard on September 21.
The petitioner has challenged separate entrance tests held by private colleges. This, he said, violated the directives of the Supreme Court. The SC had advocated introduction of a single-window system for admission.
An association was also constituted but many private colleges did not take its membership.
About 36 private colleges affiliated to the Chhatrapati Sahuji Maharaj University asked the university to allow admissions from its list prepared after holding the entrance examination. But the university had refused to accept it in wake of the ongoing controversy over the claim of association.
Since half of the academic session was about to end, it would not be possible to hold fresh entrance examination and to complete the admission process before the end of November this year. This would mean zero session for the private colleges and they would incur heavy financial loss.
