In a unique stand-off, 800 workers of the Carlsberg brewery in Copenhagen, Denmark went on a four-day strike last week because they were banned from having more than one beer a day on the job. In an April 1 announcement — that turned out not to be a joke — the company cut the staff’s daily allowance of three free beers to just one beer at lunch, and removed beer from refrigerators on the premises.
