Belief, as described by Oxford dictionary, means ‘an acceptance that something exists or is true, without proof’. It is so true to oneself, whereas actually it may or may not be true. We keep collecting clues to confirm our beliefs and look through those word or actions, which are contrary to our belief.

Does it not always happen that even if we are going to meet someone for the first time, we have already established an image of him in our mind, and more often than not we will find him just like that? How it can be possible that he fits our vision.

He does not, but we only see and match things that our mindset has already created.

Suppose we are going to meet somebody and have a negative opinion about him. He may say a lot of good things, we will hear them all but as soon as he will say one negative thing, it registers immediately. It will immediately reconfirm our belief and make it stronger.

So, what do we do? Our brain is faster and stronger than we think, and also to a large extent beyond our control. It will make opinions and beliefs before any event and then reconfirm these opinions. We cannot stop forming them as that is the job of the brain, till the time we achieve the highest form of salvation, where there is no opinion, no choice and everything just happens to exist.

We will start seeing only the positive side of people as that is our belief and we do not have to confirm it.
