Supporters of former Karnataka minister G Janardhana Reddy have called for Bellary district bandh on Tuesday to protest his arrest under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

BJP MLA Somalingappa, a close aide of Janardhana Reddy, told reporters here that the district will observe a bandh on Tuesday.

After a CBI team arrested Reddy and his brother-in-law Srinivasa Reddy, who is also the MD of Obulapuram Mining Corporation (OMC) owned by the Reddy family, and escorted them to Hyderabad, few members of the probe agency continued searches at the former minister's residence and questioned his wife Aruna Lakshmi.

The CBI team seized about 25 luxury cars, including a Rolls Royce, owned by Janardhana Reddy, sources said.

The arrests came in connection with the cases filed by CBI against the Reddys in Andhra Pradesh. The CBI team took the seized cash, jewellery and other documents to Hyderabad, they said.
