Former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto has denied holding secret negotiations with President Pervez Musharraf for an assurance that she would not be arrested if she returns home to contest 2007 general elections.
"I have been in exile for seven years and there have been rumours that delegations have been dispatched to Dubai for talks with me and make me prime minister but nothing has happened.
I am not going to give any response to them (rumours). My press officers already have," she told reporters on Thursday night.
Pakistani press had speculated that Bhutto met the military leader to discuss the elections and gain assurances she would not face arrest over corruption charges.
"There's no agreement. Our people meet all the time in parliament," Bhutto said, when asked if she had held face-to-face talks with Musharraf.
