Did you know that Jennifer Lopez is a sideline soccer diva, who sponsors a team in her hometown, the Bronx. The team is called the J. Lo Girls, and Lopez herself supplied not only the name, but also their uniforms.
"My teammates were really happy, but my schoolmates were really jealous," revealed Victoria Siciliano, one of the team members.
"It’s just a great thing, I’m glad we got involved with it," said Lopez at the premiere of her new film. "We had our clothing company, and now we’re sponsoring a soccer team, so it’s good."
Thanks to Jennifer’s generosity, the 11 to 13-year-old girls on the team not only learned the game, but also became their league’s co-champs. Coach Peter Stamelman said they owe their winning spirit to their hometown hero. "We like to feel that we live up to our benefactor, and try to live up to her the way she has in her film and music career. We rock, we have a great team," he said.
