A simple flick of a brush can fix your too-thin lips or hide your dark circles. Here’s how.
No one has a flawless face. Not everyone is blessed with a sharp jawline or a perfect pout. But there are ways to hide and rectify your flaws. We get experts to share simple tips and tricks that will help you camouflage them.
Thin lipsHow to hide: “Hide the lines around your lips with a concealer. Next, line your lips with a lip liner pencil a shade darker than your lips, starting from the peak of the cupid bow to the corner of the lips, and don’t forget to go above the natural lip line,” shares Nahush Pise, make-up artiste.
Podgy jawlineHow to hide: “For a defined jawline, follow the natural contours and angles of your cheekbone and also shade the jaws along the same angle of the cheekbone. Apply dark powder blush with a fluffy brush to avoid any sharp lines underneath the jaw,” adds Nahush.
Narrow eyesHow to hide: “To make your eyes look bigger, keep your eyebrows perfectly shaved and line the eyes with a liner that is of a deeper colour than the eyeshadow you use,” says dermatologist Dr Swati Srivastava. Another trick is to curl your upper eye lashes.
Shapeless eyebrowsHow to hide: “Fill the eyebrows using a lighter colour pencil, drawing hair-like strokes. Add a cleaner look by gelling the hair in the direction of the hair growth (use a mascara wand),” says Nahush.
Dark circlesHow to hide: “For Indian skin tones, a little bit of olive and red undertone can go a long way to cover all blemishes. So apply a hint of these colours before the foundation to hide dark circles,” suggests Nahush. “A creamy concealer or a translucent powder can also veil tired eyes,” says Dr Swati.
