The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh supremo, Mohan Bhagwat on Thursday has for first time expressed publicly his satisfaction over the 'change' in governance of the country under the leadership of Narendra Modi and hoped that it would fulfil the aspiration of the people in coming days.

Addressing the concluding session of the 25-day training programme of swayamsevaks here this evening, he said, “ We are confident that the new government will tread the chosen path. People thoughtfully elected it because they were desperate for a change and are looking forward to better times.”

However, he refused to acknowledge any role in installing the new government at the Centre. “We do not have any remote control on it,” he stressed.

“People congratulated the RSS for bringing about this change, but let me tell you all we did was to encourage voters to participate in election process. We do not believe in such control. But it is our wish that the government sustains the momentum and meets people aspirations,” the RSS chief said.

The 25-day training programme was postponed for a month because of the general elections. The RSS swayamsevaks had actively participated in the just concluded elections in favour of BJP after they were directed to do so by the RSS headquarters.
