The service, earlier limited to Delhi and Chennai circles, will now be available across 300 cities, Bharti Airtel said in a statement.

"We see the national rollout of airtel money playing a pivotal role in accelerating mobile based commerce and look forward to further extending the availability of this service in deeper pockets in future," Bharti Airtel India and South Asia Chief Executive Sanjay Kapoor said.

Airtel money is the first mobile-based service to offer customers the convenience of instant money transfer from an airtel money wallet to another and also bank accounts, the statement said.

Airtel money has merchant partnerships with over 1,800 brands including utilities, telecom (BSNL and MTNL) and insurance (LIC) and mutual funds, organised retailers, as well as local chemists and grocery stores who will accept payments via airtel money.
