BHOPAL WILL take on Indore in the final of the football event of the State Olympic Games to be played at Tatya Tope Stadium on Friday.
In the first semifinal played today, Bhopal defeated Jabalpur 1-0. As was expected, both teams gave a tough fight to each other. Striker Rahat gave the breakthrough to Bhopal in the first half of the match. Taking a lead of 1-0, Bhopal intensified the attacks.
Responding to the attacks, Jabalpur also tried their best to bounce back in the game. But the strong defence of Bhopal foiled every attack of the opponents. The first half ended with the score 1-0 in the favour of Bhopal.
The second half saw more attacks from Jabalpur but the good coordination between the Bhopal players put paid to the intentions of Jabalpur to equalise the score. However, in the meantime, Bhopal got two close opportunities of improving the score but the strikers failed to net the ball.
In the last part of the game, Jabalpur made every possible strategy to equalise the score but failed. In the second semifinal, Indore defeated Neemuch 2-0. The impressive game by Indore entertained the spectators.
In the final of the men’s handball also, Bhopal will clash with Indore. In the first semifinal, Indore defeated Dhar 7-6. The keenly fought match between the teams excited everyone on the ground. Intense fight for each point between the teams made the match interesting. The luck, however, favoured Indore as the team scored the last and important point in the last moments of the game.

In the final of the women’s handball event, Jabalpur defeated Indore. Bhopal stood third in the same event. MP Police and Jabalpur dominated the men’s kabaddi event. Defeating Ratlam 24-9, MP Police made clear the intentions of winning the trophy.
In the semifinal, MP Police will clash with Jabalpur. The closing ceremony of the State Olympic Games will be organised at Tatya Tope Stadium on Friday.
