Bhutan Queen on a three-day Kerala visit

The seven-member royal entourage would visit Kanyakumari on Thursday and would leave for Chennai on February 17.

Queen of Bhutan Ashi Dorji Wangomo Wangechuck and her daughter princess Ashi Sonam Dechen Wangechuck arrived here for a three-day visit on Wednesday.

In a brief chat with reporters at the airport, Queen Ashi said she was very happy to visit Kerala.

"For many, many years, I wanted to come to Kerala. I am very happy to be here today," she said.

The Queen and her daughter went straight to Kovalam Taj Hotel, where they are staying.

The seven-member royal entourage would visit Kanyakumari on Thursday and would leave for Chennai on February 17.

On their arrival at the airport, they were received by General Administration Department Secretary Bharat Bhushan, State Protocol Officer PS Sreekumar and other top state officials.
