Many NRIs evinced interest in investing in the state in the areas of Information Technology, education, industry and power sectors, he said at the airport on his return from Hyderabad.

Kumar claimed that attendance of NRIs was the highest in the Bihar pavilion during parallel sessions.

He said he had asked potential investors "not to make a plunge straightaway but sought a promise from them to visit Bihar and see for themselves that a wind of change was blowing in the state".

The Chief Minister thanked the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for appealing to NRIs to invest in Bihar to propel the state into the ranks of the most developed states of the country.

He also praised the Bihar Industries Association (BIA) and Bihar Chamber of Commerce (BCC) for advocating the state's case and said: "We succeeded in presenting a new picture of Bihar and assuring the investors that their investment would not go down the drain."
