Bihar Players' Association president Mritunjay Tiwary on Tuesday urged the BCCI chief Sharad Pawar to give separate affiliations to Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) and Jharkhand Cricket Association (JCA).
Tiwari told reporters here that the prolonged fight between the BCA and JCA over the issue of affliation had affected the cricketers in Bihar.
Though the JCA was permitted to participate in Ranji Trophy matches, the BCA was yet to have this privilege, he said.
"We fervently request BCCI chief to intervene and ensure that the BCA gets affliations for promoting cricket in Bihar", he said.
Stating that the BCCI has called a meeting of representatives of BCA, JCA and other groups in Bihar in Mumbai on December 15 to discuss the issue, Tiwari expressed hope that the discussion would come out with a "positive decision."
He threatened that the Bihar Players' Association would hold demonstration before Pawar's residence in Mumbai if the BCCI failed to come to any concrete solution with respect to granting affliations to the BCA.
