Bill for Sanskrit Foundation soon

A BILL would soon be introduced to establish a Sanskrit Foundation in the State for the propagation of Sanskrit language, Minister for School Education Dr Narottam Mishra said today.

A BILL would soon be introduced to establish a Sanskrit Foundation in the State for the propagation of Sanskrit language, Minister for School Education Dr Narottam Mishra said today.

He was speaking at the Akhil Bharatiya Sanskrit Mahotsava today. Finance minister Raghavji presided over. Vice-chairman of the Madhya Pradesh Sanskrit Board, Dr Manmohan Updhayay was a special guest on the occasion.

In his address, Dr Mishra said that knowledge and information on Indian culture and human values are available in Sanskrit texts but it is regrettable that the language is being neglected in the country while those in the west are showing keen interest in learning the language. He said the knowledge from Sanskrit texts would be helpful to ward off the attack on Indian culture.

The Minister for School Education urged the participants to help the government in promoting the language. He added further that the government would do its best.

Raghavji, while underlining the importance of the language, said that several languages in the world have roots in Sanskrit and the language has contributed in a huge way to spread knowledge across the world.
