The Avian Influenza, commonly known as bird flu, has claimed 91 human lives in in the last three years, 42 of them in Vietnam.

In Thailand, the first cases were reported in 2004 and of the 22 cases reported during the period, 14 died.

Indonesia, where 25 cases were reported, has lost 18 persons to the disease.
The other countries affected were Cambodia, where four deaths have so far been reported.
The disease accounted for 8 deaths in China out of the 12 cases reported.
Turkey and Iraq follow with death tolls of four and one.
