Mangesh Kanade, a resident of Sumer Castle in Rabodi, jumped around 6 am and fell on the parapet near the first floor. Kanade lived with his family on the 6th floor of the eight-storey building. “There was a noise and the night watchman came out to check. The 1st floor residents saw the body,” said a watchman of the building.

The Rabodi police station has filed an accidental death report. Kanade’s body was sent to the Thane Civil Hospital for post-mortem.

In another case, a 54-year-old doctor jumped from the 11th floor of a building in Nagpada on Sunday. He was allegedly suffering from depression.

“Kanade had a dairy business and lived with his wife and two sons. He left a suicide note behind. We are investigating the contents of the note,” said Senior Police Inspector, Sidharth Wagh. Police officials said that Kanade mentioned the names of two people in the suicide note and reportedly committed suicide because of harassment from these two men. “We are investigating their relation to the deceased. We cannot reveal their names now as it will hinder our investigations,” said an officer.
