BJP MP Chandan Mitra told reporters here last night that "Congress with an intention to seek support from BJD in the post-poll adjustment at the Centre has withdrawn some big and serious candidates at the last minute from Lok Sabha constituencies."

"Even OPCC President K P Singhdeo is not contesting Lok Sabha elections from his traditional Dhenkanal seat", the BJP Rajya Sabha member said, adding Congress has been deliberately keeping a low profile campaign to benefit BJD in the polls.

Mitra said NCP leader Sharad Pawar, who had been maintaining perfect relations with Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, would act as interlocutor for BJD to seek his support.
