They also organised a meeting at the crossing and criticised Manmohan Singh government for its alleged anti-people attitude. They said that the Union government had taken certain decisions in connection with prices of petrol and diesel, which were very much anti-people.

Expressing his views on this occasion, state president of the BJP Education Cell Vibhrat Chand Kaushik and city unit president Dr Dharmendra Singh condemned State Government for not decreasing the taxes on petroleum. They also condemned Union Government for being insensitive to the inconvenience of the people.

BJP leaders Radheshyam Ravat and Ravi Srivastav said that people were facing a big problem due to rise in prices of essential commodities. The hike in petrol prices would compound their problems, they said.
