"Our economist prime minister indulges in falsehood. What about his promise to bring down inflation in 100 days? It has only increased," BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said.

Prasad on Tuesday also accused Manmohan Singh as being "conspicuously silent or evasive" on critical issues relating to the infrastructure sector.

"Proper growth of infrastructure sector is critical for development and it is indeed surprising that the prime minister in his press conference was conspicuously silent or evasive on critical issues relating to this sector,"said Prasad on Monday.

The BJP observed black day Monday, two days after the UPA's first anniversary in power, and held a demonstration over price rise, the Maoist violence, India's "flawed" foreign policy and a number of other issues.
