Election commission sources said some portions of the video CD was found to contain things that were not in keeping with the election code of conduct.

Personal attack on opponents and communal issues were generally treated as ‘objectionable´, the sources said without specifying the contents of the CD.

The certification committee under the Joint Chief Election Officer recommended the deletion of some parts and the appellate committee chaired by the Chief Electoral Officer had approved the suggestion, the sources said.

The advertisement had not been entirely rejected, they added.
