"10 MPs and 46 MLAs from the Congress have resigned in protest against government's failure to form Telangana. When an MP gives his resignation in his own handwriting amply and explicitly expressing his desire to quit, it should be accepted... We would like to know the reason for not accepting their resignation," BJP spokesperson Jagat Prakash Nadda said.

He maintained that the Congress MPs and MLAs had given their handwritten resignation to the Lok Sabha and Assembly speakers respectively. The MPs had met the Lok Sabha speaker and then told media stating that they wanted to quit on the issue of Telangana, he said.

However, Nadda clarified that he did not want to drag the respective Speakers on this issue and instead targeted the Congress for the delay.
