BJP being run like a corporate office: Uma

A kind of ideological confusion has set in the BJP with some leaders speaking in 'split voices' on the party's ideologies.

Continuing her tirade against the BJP, expelled leader Uma Bharti on Wednesday said attempts to run the saffron party as a "corporate office" by some of its "political managers" had lead to its ideological erosion and disenchantment of the committed rank and file.

"The political agenda of a party cannot be set and implemented by 'political managers' on the lines of running a corporate office," she told reporters in Varanasi without naming anyone.

"The party leadership should stem the rot by committing themselves to the core ideology of Hindutva," the firebrand leader said adding "the ambivalent postures on its core ideologies for the sake of political power, particularly since 2001, had lead to the decline of the party."

"A kind of ideological confusion has set in the BJP with some leaders speaking in 'split voices' on the party's core ideologies," she said qoting LK Advani's defence of his praise of Pakistan's founding leader MA Jinnah and his successor Rajnath Singh's reiteration of the party's commitment to Hindutva and cultural nationalism.
