BHARATIYA Janata Party activists blamed the ‘appeasement’ policy of the UPA Government for a spurt in terrorist activities.

They expressed this view during programmes to raise awareness against terrorism at prominent crossings here on Monday. They said it was because of such policies that the internal and external security of the country was at stake.
The speakers said citizens were bearing the brunt of frequent hike in prices of essential commodities. Besides, increasing terrorist activities had made life hell for them.
They said the soft stand of the State and the Central Government towards terrorists had boosted their morale.
Bharatiya Janata Party Mahanagar president Kailash Kesri alleged that driven by the politics of vote bank, all the political parties, including the Congress and the Samajwadi Party, were indulging in Muslim appeasement and this had resulted in a sharp rise in terror strikes in various parts of the country.
State Executive Council member Ashok Pandey said shielding anti-national outfits such as the Students’ Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) would encourage terrorism and separatism in the country.
Prominent among others who organised awareness programmes against terrorist activities were Dr Jyotsana Srivastava, Sanjay Rai, Shanker Giri, Suresh Rai, Purushottam Gupta, Lalchandra Kushwaha, Rajkumar Sharma, Ravi Shanker Singh, Vivek Narayan Singh, Geeta Shashti and Laxman Jaiswal.
