The party leaders submitted a memorandum to the BMC administration and broke earthen pots at the gates of Sadar Manzil. The BJP leaders alleged that the City was reeling under the severe water crisis due to careless attitude of the Mayor. When City is facing severe water crisis, the Mayor, they said, is busy in party politics and reshuffle of the mayor-in-council.

BJP district president Surendranath Singh said there is no equitable water distribution in the City. At a time when every drop counts, there is wastage of water at many places.

BJP Urban Bodies Cell state convener Rameshwar Sharma alleged that the Mayor is creating water crisis and giving an impression that he is trying to sort it out. He alleged that the responsibility of delay in the implementation of Kolar Scheme should be fixed. Sharma alleged that the present Mayor and his predecessors from the same party are responsible for it.

... Cong says Sood doing well
CONGRESS CORPORATORS today claimed that Mayor Sunil Sood deserved all credit for the smooth water supply in the City. The smooth water supply is the result of efforts made by the Mayor before the start of summer, they said.
Addressing a press conference today, Congress corproators group Amit Sharma and other corporators said the Mayor reviews water supply on daily basis. Sharma said misuse of tankers was stopped at the directives of the Mayor resulting in improved water supply in slums.

Sharma said the BJP workers and leaders were making hue and cry for pure political reasons. He alleged the BJP corporators and workers misbehaved with officials and employees as was visible during the BJP demonstration at BMC office of zone number 13 a couple of days ago.

The Congress corporators also said the water supply was partially affected on some occasions due to power cuts. They said the BMC would implement many schemes to improve distribution network and filtration plants due to the Mayor’s efforts. Besides, the Narmada Scheme is also being implemented to ensure more water to the State capital, they added.
