BJP candidate arrested for violation of 'model code'

Amrutiya and Acharya, party candidate and also a sitting MLA, had announced a cash reward upto Rs five lakh to BJP workers for fetching maximum votes in the coming Lok Sabha polls from Kutch constituency.

When contacted Rajkot rural DSP D N Patel confirmed the arrest and said both the leaders have been booked under IPC Section 171(B) and 188.

Amrutiya and Acharya were later released on bail on furnishing bail amount of Rs 5,000 each, Patel added.
