BJP candidate 'attacked' by party rebel

BJP candidate from Pragpur constituency Anita Sandal was injured in an 'attack' by supporters of a BJP rebel at Adwara on Tuesday.

The BJP candidate from Pragpur (reserve) assembly constituency in Kangra district Anita Sandal was injured in an alleged attack by supporters of a BJP rebel at Adwara while campaigning in her constituency.

Sandal who was hospitalised with a fracture in her leg alleged that a supporter of the rebel BJP candidate who was also a former office-bearer of Pragpur Mandal of the party tried to crush her under his vehicle when she was campaigning at Adwara on Monday.

Sandal said she and some of her women supporters had been receiving threats over the past few days.

A report has been lodged with police and investigation is on, she said.
