The delegation will complain against the alleged breach of the poll code by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh by announcing an economic package for victims of ethnic violence in Assam's Karbi-Anglong district.

The party would also seek to convince the Election Commission that the case against BJP General Secretary and election incharge of Assam Pramod Mahajan for violating the model code of conduct was "based on false reports and allegations", Naqvi said.

Mahajan addressed a press conference in Guwahati on Sunday, a day after the campaign for the first phase of elections ended.

Party spokesperson Prakash Javdekar on Sunday said "the Prime Minister has violated the model code of conduct and code of governance. Such promises during electioneering are definitely breach of the election code of conduct."
