BJP denies hand in Jammu agitation

Though the BJP is trying to mobilise support across the country against the Amarnath land revocation order, the party denies having organised the protests in Jammu, reports Sweta Ramanujan-Dixit.

“This is not a BJP-sponsored agitation,” senior BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu said in Mumbai on Monday. He was in the city to lead a rally, which was cancelled due to heavy rains.

Naidu blamed the Centre for giving the Kashmir Valley ‘more importance’ and ‘ignoring the plight of Pandits’ in Jammu. “All projects, jobs, money goes to the Valley because it is a vote bank,” he said.
