He is an economist by profession, but BJP president Nitin Gadkari thinks Prime Minister Manmohan Singh does not even merit 25 out of 100 for his handling of the economy.

“The prime minister says that inflation is everywhere. I have checked. Japan has 0% inflation. Countries like US and China have inflation but only 3%. But in India the rate of inflation is 18%," said Gadkari, who is campaigning in Goa ahead of the March 3 assembly elections.
Comparing the Congress-led UPA regime to the BJP-led NDA government, Gadkari said the schemes they floated were free of corruption. “In comparison, look at the 2G spectrum case. A scam of R1.86 lakh crore. This is then CAG’s figure, not the BJP’s,” Gadkari said.
