The party alleged that the decision was taken to humiliate present principal secretary Rajendra Prasad Pandey.

Pandey had objected to illegal and unethical interference of Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav during voting in the biennial Vidhan Parishad and Rajya Sabha elections recently, it said.

Dubbing the move aimed at destroying autonomy of the Vidhan Sabha Sachivalaya, state BJP president Keshari Nath Tripathi said that the Chief Minister wanted a man in the Sachivalaya who could follow his legal or illegal instructions without asking any question.

The Chief Minister’s next move would obviously be to snatch all the powers from the present principal secretary and pass it on to the new incumbent who was bound to be his obedient follower.

The party further said that BJP president Rajnath Singh would campaign for its candidate Vinay Katiyar in Rae Bareli on Monday.
