BJP has no right to attack the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh over terror attacks as serious incidents like Parliament attack have occurred during its tenure, Congress president Sonia Gandhi said in Karimnagar on Tuesday.
The BJP is atttacking the UPA government and the Prime Minister over the November 26 Mumbai attacks other terror attacks but the grave attacks like Parliament House attack, when the NDA was in power, she said addressing an election meeting here. Seeking to reach out to voters in this town, hotbed of movement for separate Telangana state, she said Congress is not against formation of separate Telangana state.
"Telangana is a priority issue for us. The Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy has already announced on the floor of the assembly that Congress is not against Telangana," she said. Massive development works have been taken up in the region by the Congress government and the elections are a referendum on its performance, Gandhi said.
She appealed to the electorate to vote for the Congress candidates and give the party a clear mandate. Ponnam Prabhakar, Madhu Yashki Goud, G Vivek, Congress nominees for Karimnagar, Nizamabad and Peddapalle Lok Sabha seats were introduced by Gandhi on the occasion.
