The Congress would benefit due to the party differences in the BJP in the Mandi parliamentary byelection, said transport minister GS Bali.
Taking a dig at rift between BJP stalwart leader LK Advani and other BJP leaders over the elevation of Gujarat chief minister Narender Modi as the chief of political campaign for the Lok Sabha elections 2014, Bali said this would affect the BJP campaign in the Mandi byelection.
He said the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has come on the verge of extinction, because its supportive political clouts have started to pull out its hand from NDA.
He said there were thousands of BJP workers in the state related to the ideology of Advani and the recent episode over elevation of Modi would affect the morale of BJP workers, which would directly benefit the Congress in this election.
In reply to a query, Bali said he had never sought a resignation from his portfolio and denied any differences with chief minister Virbhadra Singh.
He alleged that the BJP had left Rs 385 crore debt on the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC), which had shattered the economy of corporation.
“Now, we are trying our best to pull out the corporation from financial crisis and would provide better transport facility for common people in the state,” added Bali.
He said HRTC would soon purchase 500 buses for the comfort of people.

He alleged that former chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal was trying to mislead people on Ski village issue for gaining political momentum.
He said there was no proposal of government for Ski Village at Kullu and no company had applied for it to the state government.
He said Congress candidate Pratibha Singh would win this election with a huge margin because people were annoyed with the previous regime of the BJP, which had stalled development work in the state.
