Speaking to media here, Kumaraswamy asked the Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa to take action on the recommendations made in the report of Karnataka Lokayukta to stop illegal mining.

He said his party would launch an agitation against the Illegal mining in Bellary district with the 'support of some from the BJP ministry'.

On the government's decision to regularise illegal construction of dwellings on revenue land, he said it had been politically motivated. The issue should have been debated on the floor of the house before taking such a decision, Kumaraswamy said.

He said JDS was gearing up for the Lok Sabha polls and would come up with the first list of candidates by end of the month.

To a question whether he would contest the Lok Sabha polls, the JDS leader said personally he wanted to remain in state politics. However, if the party insisited, he would follow its wishes.
