Senior BJP leader Prem Kataruka has resigned from the primary membership of the party in protest against "misbehaviour" by a senior national leader.

"I am hurt by the misbehaviour by a senior national leader when I had gone to the BJP office here and due to that
I am resigning from the party," Kataruka said in his letter dated December 27 to the state unit president Raghuvar Das.

A copy of the letter was released to the media here today.

Kataruka, a former secretary and spokesman of the party's state unit, also sent a copy of the letter to the BJP
president Nitin Gadkari.
