A MAHA Rally will be organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party at Lucknow on September 2. Former Central minister and senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj will address the rally, on women related issues. BJP women activists from all over the State would participate in the rally, said BJP Mahila Morcha state president Shailtanya Srivastava.
Addressing the BJP Mahila Morcha meeting on Saturday, Srivastava said the female population needed to be sensitised for the coming election. The women should play a greater role in the election both as a campaigner and as a voter. “In every district women activists who are interested in getting the party ticket for the election, should be identified.
At least two female members will be present at every booth,” she said.
BJP Mahanagar president Ranjeet Singh said the government had failed to control the prices of essential commodities.”The BJP Mahila Morcha had decided to observe protest week and stage dharna at Lucknow,” he said.
Meanwhile, BJP members have decided to launch an agitation to protest against the arrest of Ishwar Sharan Degree College former union president Akhilesh Shukla alias Guddu.
