Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Sukhnanadan Chaudhary has said whatsoever may be the decision of the party at any level for the candidate in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, he is all set to contest the Jammu-Poonch segment.
"Why cannot I be the right candidate for the contest?" asked Sukhnandan Chaudhary while speaking to Hindustan Times on the sidelines of a press conference conveyed by the four party MLAs on the Doda-Bhaderwah earthquake issue.
When asked about the party's decision and national high command's seal on their "chosen" candidate for the Parliament ticket, Sukhanandan said, "Who cares? If somebody else, then why not me?
The MLA from the Marh constituency, whose forte has been reaching out to the farmers' community in providing them their share of fertilisers by putting up his voice in the assembly sessions of the state, is very confident of retaining his seat.
The present statistics, however, in the face of BJP losing its social and moral grounds among people of Jammu, says NC candidate Ajay Sadhotra had made good inroads in the constituency that must have made the BJP MLA to recourse to membership of Parliament.
"I dare any candidate to challenge my constituency. As long my people are there, I have a very safe bet on Marh," said Sukhnadan but expressed his keener desire to contest for Parliament in the forthcoming elections.

{{/usCountry}}"Time is ripe that now I should represent the aspirations of my people in Parliament. I am fully devoted on the issue and do not care for any management at any level. I have my people support behind me," said Sukhnandan.
"He is a witty person and must be cracking jokes. I don't believe he carries such notion," was a brief reply from BJP president Jugal Kishore Sharma.
The sources privy to BJP office, however, say since all the four remaining MLAs are quite apprehensive about themselves staying able to retain their respective seats having earned riding the Amarnath Land imbroglio in 2008, all are now in race to win tickets for two prestigious MP seats from Jammu.
As a refreshing reminder, it becomes pertinent to mention here that though after having won peoples' support before 2008 elections, the benefit of which the 11 MLAs took riding the 'success" of Amarnath land issue, Leela Karan Sharma too had jumped into the fray for parliamentary contest and was out rightly thrown out.
