BJP's open letter to EC seeks action against Sonia

The complaint lodged by the Gujarat BJP unit comes in the wake of the remarks made by Sonia Gandhi at a rally in south Gujarat.

The Gujarat unit of BJP, in an open letter to the Election Commission, on Saturday sought action against Congress president Sonia Gandhi and party leader Digvijay Singh, following its complaint to the constitutional body on December two.

In an open letter, published in vernacular newspapers, Jayantilal S Barot, General Secretary, the state BJP said, "The entire country and
BJP as a complainant want to know as to why the Election Commission has not so far taken any action against Sonia and Singh."

The complaint comes in the wake of the remarks made by Sonia Gandhi at a rally in south Gujarat, where she referred to the state government as "merchants of death".
