BJP's vice-president of Manipur unit N Tombi Singh, who had recently escaped an assassination bid, on Monday resigned from the party's primary membership.
Singh in a statement said he has submitted the resignation letter to state party president Th Chaoba Singh.
Separatist Kanglei Yawol Kann Lup (KYKL) has demanded resignation or removal of Chaoba Singh saying the outfit would kill all important party office bearers if he is not removed from the president's post.
KYKL had earlier said it attempted on the life of Tombi Singh on March 30 as he was believed to be a staunch supporter of Chaoba Singh.
BJP sources, meanwhile, said at least 10 office bearers of the party, including state unit Secretary Kh Saratkumar, have resigned from their posts and primary membership.
