"A meeting of state office-bearers and district unit presidents and secretaries will be held on May 29, which will be chaired by state president Ramapati Ram Tripathi," BJP spokesman Hriday Narain Dixit today said.

Besides, reviewing poll results, discussions would also be held on possible by-election on some seats of the state assembly and other organisational matters, he said.

"Though due to polarisation of votes on communal lines by unified opposition, poll results were not as per the party's expectations, but the vote percentage of the BJP had increased in the Lok Sabha polls. Detailed deliberations will be made in the meeting," Dixit said.

He said that the poll results were a mandate against the BSP government in Uttar Pradesh and the electorates displayed their disenchantment for the SP too.

"We lost because BSP, Congress and SP unitedly contested against the BJP. This is evident from the fact that the BSP and SP had extended unconditional support to Congress-led UPA government at the Centre," Dixit alleged.
