Despite successful panchayat elections, the government has failed to empower elected members, which has badly affected development in rural areas, he said.

"If the Congress was sincere, the 73rd amendment regarding the Panchyati Raj Act would have been implemented in the state. The people of all three regions are fed up with anti-people policies of the coalition government, which is on a ventilator and can collapse any moment," said Vibodh Gupta.

The people of the state have now understood the importance of the BJP and would vote for it in the next assembly elections, said Gupta, adding that the prevailing chaos, red-tape, mis-governance, rampant corruption, lack of accountability, ignorance among unemployed youth and fractured work culture had adversely affected the functioning of the government with its credibility being at the lowest ebb.
